Apr. 19th, 2008 12:06 pmHey, does anybody in the northern New Jersey / Manhattan area know where I can get my hands on some good-quality essential oils? Not fragrance oils, essential oils. I'm looking specifically for cedarwood and clove oil- eucalyptus too, but the first two are probably the more important. When I go about making my next batch of soap I'm going to try it with a scent mixture I remember from a store that closed a long time ago.
(And those of my friends who're BPAL fanatics, if this works out, who knows? Maybe someday I'll be able to do small batches of soap with those scents. Assuming I can still get the lye.)

Date: 2008-04-19 05:47 pm (UTC)They ask that you not make a profit off of reselling the oils, or anything that you have made containing the oils.
And it's pretty obvious why they do this. As a BPAL'er myself, these people can be raving, obsessive fanatics. And it takes long enough to get your orders as it is. AND, one of the big parts about BPAL is that there are limited edition scents that come out all the time, and then they're gone. Could you imagine what would happen if it were possible for schmucks in the general public to buy up all the limited edition scents, and resell them for waaaaaay marked up prices on ebay?
Yeah.
That's why that rule is in place.

Date: 2008-04-20 01:29 am (UTC)Clove and Eucalyptus are really common, because they can be used for so many health related things. Cedarwood might be a little harder to get, but they can probably order it for you if they don't have it on hand.

Date: 2008-04-22 04:07 pm (UTC)Danii was actually wondering if you would like to come over tonight to watch Doctor Who and kill things brutally with crowbars and assault rifles.
We may try one of the new restaurants on Delivery.com out, to see how it measures up, since I don't think we have any meat thawed.
Or, we may stick with mexican, as it has yet to fail us for deliciousness.
