I'll be voting today when I get home from work. My polling place is about a block and a half from the light rail station, so I'm gonna take the Hoboken train home and hop the light rail there. The Hoboken train is never nearly as crowded as the Journal Square line, so I'll have a chance at a seat, and the light rail between Hoboken and my stop costs the same as between any of the Jersey City stops and my stop. So, I"m good there.

I also got to the Post Office to pick up my most recent eBay purchase. I now have a Cybertron Vector Prime, largely because I liked the look of the toy in Insecticomics, aka In Space No One Can Hear Starscream. The character sounded interesting when I looked him up on the Transformers wiki, so that helped too. I bought him loose, but he came with all his accessories, including the rubber sword and the Minicon. Looks like he's in pretty good shape. I'm pretty sure he's the first Transformers toy I ever bought that actually changes- the Robot Heroes ones were bought pretty much as desk decoration and as a way of giving small gifts at Christmas that didn't place any kind of reciprocal obligation on the recipient. (Mostly I wanted to make a coworker go 'Eeee! Starscream!'.) Vector Prime's gonna be put on my bookshelf when I get home, on one of the shelves the cats don't bother with. I think he's about the right size to offer to decapitate my Dog Soldiers werewolf if he gets out of line.

I like toys because I can pose them or play with them, and they look good. I am not a collector. If I wanted something to collect for the sake of having a collection or investment value, I would go back into the coin collecting hobby. My dad introduced me to that when I was a little kid, and I still know the terminology reasonably well. I'm good with that.

Not quite baroque enough. It needs something... I'd say have the combat evolve into a teamup of necessity, but that's almost even worse.

Funny, I am a collector, and that's why I like toys. *grins* They're toys! You should play with them. It's why they're made.

Also, I absolutely love that you got Vector Prime in part because of Insecticomics. I keep looking at Arcee and Elita in Target and thinking about it (but then I've got Vehicon Thrust somewhere and as soon as I saw Arcee's model sheet I thought she looked like Thrust's hot cousin or something).

I do have a tiny little Legends-class Movicon Starscream, but, um, he's technically one of my dolls' toys.

Next time I get paid, I'm going to Target and seeing if they've got the second wave of the movie battles yet. I really want the Bumblebee capture one- I want the Sector Seven guys as well as the Bumblebee figure. And possibly the Scorponok vs. Lennox, Epps and Donnelly set, but that'll inevitably end up with some of my other toys tap dancing on Scorponok's head. (I used to have a little rubber samurai figure that was exactly the right size and just barely poseable enough to ride the Megaloceros replica I bought at the museum, and my old Green Lantern power armor fit perfectly on a museum Australopithecus figure I used to own, so...)
