1. Call Dynamic Bicycles in the morning and get the serial number, as I registered the bike when I first bought it.
2. Call the police and file a report with that serial number. Assume the bike will never be found, but at least there's a chance. Lament not getting insurance.
3. Decide on which options I want for this. I'm leaning towards the disc brakes, for starters.
4. Present self at Chelsea Bikes with the printed out specs and list of options and emergency payment option. Have the CB people order the bike and pay them to assemble it when it arrives.
5. Also tell the people at Chelsea Bikes that I wish to purchase a U-lock and a chain lock from Kryptonite's New York Fahgeddaboutit line, which comes with $3500 worth of anti-theft protection insurance for bikes on which they are used.
6. Borrow Danii's bike until the new one arrives.
7. Privately curse and swear a lot. It's therapeutic.
8. Then work on the forgiveness/compassionate response thing. It's good for me.

Date: 2007-10-29 10:24 pm (UTC)That boggles my mind. That's . . . about two thousand more than the remote-lock anti-theft alarm on my new car. O.o

Date: 2007-10-29 10:46 pm (UTC)$80 for a lock for a bike that costs much more is a good investment.
