Actually, I named 49 Asian countries in six minutes and spent the remaining four trying to determine if I'd missed an island somewhere, or if there were extra Balkan republics.

Turned out the extra four were Hong Kong, Macau, Gaza, and the West Bank.

Didn't know they counted as their own !&*(&)! countries. How much cred did I just lose?

The instructions on the side do say "the country of "China" consists of China plus two Special Administrative Regions."

Yeah, but I thought that meant Tibet and Inner Mongolia for some reason. *rubs at face* Once in a while Brane stalls out entirely.

What screwed me over is that they only accept one spelling of a place. It took me forever to figure out that they want Philippines and not Filipines (how I learned how to spell it) alas ...

As for china, I thought they were after the whole People's republic of china / Republic of China and, uh, Tibet or something

When you say "West Bank," does that mean that they are counting the West Bank and Gaza as to separate countries? Which, given the Hamas-Fatah split, is somewhat accurate, but also ignores the fact that most of the West doesn't regard either part of Palestine as a full country yet.

I only got 38 largely because I can't freaking spell the former soviet republics. I'm just lucky I thought to include Cyprus. I almost didn't.

Gaza and the West Bank together sometimes count as "The Palestinian Authority", but Gaza and the West Bank on their own? Ridiculous.
