To the old school Whovians on my friendslist (or, hell, anyone else of the Whovian persuasion reading this):

Can anyone tell me if by some chance Rassilon had roughly the level of colour-matching sense and overall taste displayed by, oh, say, the Sixth Doctor? When I was buying yarn just now for someone else's project I got hooked by two skeins I never intended to buy: the Great Adirondack Yarn Company's Silky Sock Watermelon Wanda colourway, and Colinette's JitterBug Lapis. They're sock weight yarn rather than sport weight, but they were too gorgeous to pass up. I may try coming up with something in the way of fingerless gloves with the two of them but honestly, that's one hell of a splash either one makes. Together, they'd form such an anti-camouflage that it'd loop back around into Somebody Else's Problem Field territory... anyway, point is, if I do fingerless gloves with 'em I'm probably going to use the blue as the background colour and the Watermelon Wanda for the Seal itself. Just sayin'.

I'm now drooling over Colinette in Blue Parrot, Gaugin and Kingfisher. Evil woman.

NO ONE had the color matching sense and overall taste of the Sixth Doctor. Thankfully.

Considering the few glimpses of Gallifrey that are on screen?

The more colors, the more clashing, the better. This whole 'taste in clothing' thing is somewhat a forgotten art there.

I don't believe so. I think the only time we ever saw Rassilon was in the Five Doctors movie and it was only a head shot.

I see him as a red and blue with gold and silver color scheme kind of guy, though. But then, I also like the idea that he's the 13th doctor.

They are aliens. It's possible they don't quite percieve colors in the same way humans do.

When it comes to "Whovian" and "costuming skizills", I can only think to refer you to Master Costumer [livejournal.com profile] lferion (she makes purtythings (http://www.rathriordan.org/gallery/main.php)--I'll slide this to her forthwith.

The concept of Somebody Else's Problem color combinations on Time Lords is perfectly valid, considering Douglas Adams was a writer for the series at one point...

From what I recall, Rassilon wore black -- though the only evidence we have is a painting and holographic head-shot, so it might not be that helpful.

*Time Lords*, on the other hand, like pretty gaudy color combinations, so you're probably safe there.

Isn't there gold and silver clor yarns? I mean, can't you just use the colors? Does there have to be metallic yarn?
