I'm in Babylon, Long Island, for the Ride to Montauk century tomorrow. Posting this from my Blackerry. The hotel's inexpensive, but more importantly, it's less than five miles from the starting line. With a six am start time, that becomes very important.

Locking the door and all the windows anyway.

Got my cel phone with me too. I'm eating at a diner tonight. I'm gonna eat, go back to the hotel, and call some folks before a very early bed.

I believe it's only three score and ten miles to Babylon (or a bit over 110 km for those who are actually that close to the place). Which leaves 30 miles for the side roads...

PS: Mapquest says it's 79.25 miles from Babylon to Montauk. On the highway, of course.
