hat was done in certified organic Merino yarn, O-wool, from the Vermont Organic Fiber Company. Worsted weight, 100 grams/3.5 oz.; I used a size 3 circular needle. The emblem is done in duplicate stitch embroidery. This hat was basically 'cast on 100 stitches, do an inch of k1p1 rib, work this chart where black = knit and white = purl, then go back to k1p1 rib for ten inches, then start reducing for the crown'. Pretty simple stuff. I did about four inches of the rib while watching Pan's Labyrinth, since it kept me from biting my nails. The duplicate stitch was the hardest part, really.
