Dec. 13th, 2006 08:47 amMy new computer arrived yesterday, a Dell Dimension XPS. Very nice machine. Very white and silver. I have named it Aidan after an old RPG character of mine. Now if I could just get the fast data transfer USB cable that I bought to actually let me transfer between the two machines I'd be happier, but last night I gave up on that after a while. I'll try again tonight.
I seem to be coming down with something in the cold and drip department. No fever, but lots of coughing and definite post nasal drip. The Canadian turpentine is not going to get used until absolutely necessary- say, to get me some sleep tonight.
I expect to spend most of my work time today trying to get a site-to-site VPN to work. I have an open tunnel but I can't seem to persuade the remote site to join the domain here. I think it has to do with the DNS assignment, because it can't see the domain controller at all on this end.
Uh... there was something else, but- Oh, yeah, if you don't mind the fact that I haven't sent the blasted things out yet, contact me with your snail mail address and I'll send you a Christmas card. If you'd rather, I'll take one of the 'peace on Earth' cards I have and write 'Happy Hanukkah' or 'Joyous Eid' on it, since I think the message and the intention is more important than the specifics of the day(s) when we're talking about something as simple as cards here. If you have objections to all of the above, you get either Happy Hogswatch or Joyous Erastide. Okay?
.... yeah, I need more sleep.
