Oct. 16th, 2006 02:43 pmOkay, so. I didn't put in for today off ahead of schedule like i did with the last century, but I took it off anyway. Sick day.
Not because of the stiffness. I mean, I do hurt in all kinds of places, but it's nothing I can't live with. I came home yesterday and I was still dumping heat at a rate of knots- palpable fever. I went to bed at seven and spent the night sweating, but sleeping (mostly). Woke up around five AM to the cat licking my forehead. I must've been salty as hell. I've currently got a fever, a wicked case of post-nasal drip cough (small surprise- I spent the entire race yesterday with a runny nose, which I attributed to exercise at the time) and an even wickeder case of GET THEE TO THE TOILET RIGHT NOW, which I am attributing to either the stuff I drank during the ride or to the stuff I had to eat afterwards. I should be good to go back to work tomorrow, though.
Interesting side note: yesterday was another example of the fact that my kidneys are actually quite courteous organs. They don't send anything to the bladder until after I'm off the bike- well off. Seriously, I didn't need to use the porta-johns once during the ride and didn't actually develop the need to until I was... oh, until after I'd bought my ferry ticket home.
