Firefly reference- but one of the salt companies that local restaurants order from has that as their phone number, and when you have a naturally cross-reference-happy brain, you start wondering just what ingesting anything with any reference to Pax at all is going to do to you.

Given that my second attempt at serious fanfic involved writing about the Thought Police (the telescreens were only used to give 'em an idea of where their targets were- they had actual telepaths who did the real thoughtcrime monitoring), I'd ordinarily say win.

OTOH, I went to the trouble of using a 'browncoat' icon for the post.

(Even if it is Creedy and not someone from the actual Firefly 'verse.)

Point of order: the lone account we have on the subject from a survivor of the Donner Party refers to human flesh as 'loathsome and insipid', far inferior to beef in texture and taste. Reavering doesn't make you any less interested in how your new crave tastes. I'll probably have to at least pepper them.
