Gotta retake the test. Will schedule new exam as soon as possible, and move other exam (currently scheduled for Friday) a good two weeks away.

Worst scores were in things like networking protocols and remote setups and the like. Best scores involved hardware drivers.

My own fault really for not studying up more on things I've never had to do at the office.

I'm taking back most of the snide comments I used to make about MSCEs now that I'm studying for the 2003 series tests...they're actually a real pain in the butt, and require actual knowledge. I'm working on 70-291 right now(server 2003 networking) and am reviewing tons of stuff that I'd have never expected them to actually test you on, but they do.

Maybe you should ditch the MSCE thing and build a back-mounted nuclear accellerator.

Nah. That would be silly and not do too well in the long run.

God, I hated studying for that in college. Wound up dropping the course, it was so nuts. May have had something to do with the teacher. It's never fun to get stuck halfway through the instructions, attempting to figure out why the menu does not contain any of the options that it's supposed to, finally flag down the teacher for help, and be told casually "Oh, that's just because I used the old instruction sheets. The new version has a different setup, I guess."

I know what you mean, 70-270 hit me hard on group policies and I have very seldom ever used them, and 70-291 is all about RRAS and routing and VPNs and the MS specific DNS setups, and has a ton of stuff that I've never used and would never use on any of the small to medium corp networks I work on(there just aren't that many massive scale clients in AK, and of the few there are, they have Corp IT directing how things work and you don't make changes localy).

I've been admining comoputers LANs for close to 12 years, and don't consider myself a slouch at this, but some of the stuff is only geared to major corps with dozens or hundreds of sites.

A friend's husbad recently took his CPA exam--for the second time--which is not uncommon. His comment--I know what to expect, and I know where I went wrong. So, it's a PITA, but not a calamity.

I imagine you'll find the same is true--you know what to fix; it's just a trip through the brambles to do it.

And NEVER give the cats access to nuclear armament, or anything that can be converted to such. It was a mistake to give mine access to the kitchen sink sprayer.

Without an exit route. And a safe house out of the country.
