Did my taxes yesterday. Apparently I've got two refunds coming in. The one from the State of New Your is fairly large, to the degree that I said 'put $chunk towards state Alzheimer's support efforts' and there's still a recognisable amount of refund left after.

.... I can live with this.

I dunno that I would call it that. It's more that my grandfather died of Alzheimer's this past year. Someone out there's going to need state support to deal with the same thing in their family, so... why not help, you know?

Those don't look all that free and downloadable. The first one is only good if you get their prepaid visa card, the second one is only good if you need the 1040EZ and not the 1040A, and the third one is their online forms, not downloadable.

My grandmother just died of it, a week ago last Thursday. The first half of the funeral was last Tuesday, the family service and interment is tomorrow.
