First, put your playlist on shuffle. Second, post the first lines for the first 20 songs to come up (along with these instructions). Third, have people guess the songs and artists in comments to the post. Fourth, in a few days the answers will be posted.

For the sake of my sanity I have removed all the songs that were in Mongolian. Yes, this is an issue with my playlist.

5. Time, time, time, see what's become of me...
6. Oh, I came into a scolding wife a few short years ago
7. Standing there alone, the ship is waiting
8. We come from a blue planet light-years away
9. I've been to cities that never close down

13. Viktor was born the spring of '44
14. You don't know how you met me, you don't know why
15. Whatever you do, I'll do it too
16. The wind blows hard against this mountainside
17. Come out Virginia, don't let me wait
18. I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
19. One day, one night, one moment

I knew there was a Z in there somewhere!

As I recall, the full Nena album had both the English and German versions, as well as some other quite good songs. I wonder where MY copy is...?

#20 is "Take Me Home", the Phil Collins hit.
#18 is "Werewolves of London", from Warren Zevon's Excitable Boy.
#5 is "Hazy Shade of Winter"; by Paul Simon. The Bangles' cover of it is my favorite.
I concur on the Billy Joel, and have no clue on the rest.

4. Great Big Sea, 'The night that Paddy Murphy died'
16. Mr. Mister, 'Kyrie Eleison'

For some reason, "Werewolves of London" gets more air time than "Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner" or "Excitable Boy". It's unfair, I tell you.

By the way you remember that origami yak I showed you?

Bloody. Evil. Hard.

I'm stuck halfway trying to figure out the horns. I mean...YAK! Shouldn't be so bloody hard!

Thanks for the education. The only pop music here from the west seems to be karaoke versions of Abba and such things as 'Living Next Door to Alice' - I think I need to get a 'Great Big Sea' album when I'm in the States this May.

The only one I know that hasn't already been guessed is #8, and all I can tell you without looking it up is, it's from the soundtrack to the movie Bis ans Ende der Welt (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101458/) ("Until the End of the World").

(does go and look it up) Humans from Earth, by T-Bone Burnett.

I also knew #3, #6, #10, #12, #17, #18.
