Happy Dead Gangsters Day!

Remember, kids, on this day in 1929 seven antisocial guys in Chicago were rubbed out by a bunch of other antisocial guys in a spectacular display of red and, um, more red, and I guess some pink towards the end- but mostly red. Wear your colours proudly, and watch a movie with gratuitous violence, tough guys in poorly faked accents, or both in honour of the occasion!

But, Camwyn, I look to Hong Kong when I want gratuitous violence and my Cantonese isn't good enough to recognize an accent, poorly faked or no. What should I do?

...Can I watch a movie with some off screen violence but mostly Tony Curtis in drag, please?

I know the film. It's got Anita Mui, too. But my brain would surely fry if I listened to a dub.

*sigh* You mean I have to watch "The Untouchables" again?!

Okay, fine. I suppose I can manage somehow... :-)

Or maybe "Last Man Standing", since I've re-watched "The Untouchables" recently.

Unleash the fury of the little gray kitten carrying a GAU-8 Avenger! "I always heard about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, but I had no idea -I- committed it!"

That is the first film I think of when you mention this day's events.

Bruce Willis AND completely ridiculous gunplay.

It's like someone said 'we won't just suspend belief, we'll ignore physics completely'!

HAH! And the win goes to the lurker with the completely unexpected Samurai Cat reference!

-No- one expects the Samurai Cat reference! Our chief weapons are surprise! Um, surprise and studliness? Surprise, studliness, authentic Masamune daisho, and the deadliest kitten on God's green earth!

You can do a lot of damage with two Thompsons and a 12-gauge shotgun.

*dies*

I'll just go find me an episode of Babylon 5 where Garabaldi is cleaning some poor chump's clock. Does that count?

Wheee!! *dances madly in happiness!* I've been re-reading all my Samurai Cat books just recently, and trying to pimp them and gain new converts, but not getting too far as yet.

I've been meaning to dig out mine not that my kid is old enough to appreciate them (knows enough about samurai and popular culture to get the references).

Hmmm If I do that, I can also make some icons...

I'm pretty sure it was the wrong thing to do, but, when I started re-reading the first book there were so many pages falling out that I just pulled the whole thing apart, thinking it would be easier, that way, for [livejournal.com profile] eor to scan it all, for me. Probably if I set it on his desk he will eventually get around to it, and then maybe I can make some icons, too. :) (Although I'm only good at bases, I suck at doing lettering or coming up with subtitles, and animation is quite beyond me.)

I can do animation (I have the right technology!) but I can't come up with the witty sayings like Camwyn so mine are quite plain.
