Independence Day report.
Jul. 5th, 2002 09:43 amHad the day off. Had to carry celphone turned on in case of flash flood, but no such things happened. Spent the day at Six Flags Elitch Gardens w/friend, Deirdre. Rode ALL the coasters except one lame-o green thing that goes back & forth & has one upside down loop. The Flying Coaster provoked Deirdre to scream at me in ways normally reserved for women in labour ("why did I agree to this", "I hate you I hate you I hate you", etc.) but turned out to be cool. Mind Eraser, a hanging coaster where you sat down instead of hanging AND lying on your belly (that was the Flying Coaster), was cooler. The wooden coaster, Twister II, was fabulous AND had a very short line. If you get to ride it, do not let your tongue get anywhere near your teeth while you scream, or you will bite it and scream even MORE. Also rode Boomerang, which is up-the-hill, down-the-hill, thru-the-loops, up-the-hill, DEAD STOP, up-the-hill-some-more, then EVERYTHING AGAIN BACKWARDS. Boomerang was Deirdre's idea. She gouged her own hands as the handles were too small to prevent this, but it was cool.
Park food v. v. expensive. For $6.75 I expect French fries w/my hot dog, not potato chips.
That's it for now. I'll give you more later.
