The one problem with this is that we had to go from Columbus Circle (our meeting point, at 59th and Broadwayish) up to 72nd by skating in the bike lane as a group. We tried to take up as little space as possible, and the lane IS intended for bicycles, so we figured, you know- nonpowered wheeled transport? Shouldn't be a problem. Alas, we got honked at a lot by two or three particular cars, one of which seemed to be going out of its way to go unusually fast in the lane next to us.
Sweetheart, unless you are Greg le bloody Monde or Miguel freakin' Indurain and you want your lane back right now, shut up. You weren't allowed to use that part of the road anyway.
(Lance does not need to honk at people to get out of his lane. All Lance needs to do to get people on human powered wheels out of the street is glance in their direction. Lance has mojo.)
