Friend of mine who does knitting design work and lessons for a living just emailed me to ask if I could do a project for her- a pair of sleeves to be finished by Sunday. Worsted weight yarn, size 6 needles. She'd provide the yarn and the pattern.

And $200 when the sleeves were finished.

Damn! How long do you expect that to take? That sounds like it just might be a working wage - though you'd probably have trouble finding jobs like that on a regular basis.
