(yes, I googled the sites. Knew about the westminster thing before though can't recall why I knew that one)

Date: 2005-03-14 03:28 pm (UTC)I don't remember ever celebrating the fact that we used to have an Empire, but now all we've got are these lousy Fawklands (strategic sheep purposes).
Tonight I shall have curry and put maple syrup on something while singing the Kenya Song.
... or something.

Date: 2005-03-14 03:52 pm (UTC)The maple syrup I have at home, to be stereotypical and all that, so that's not as bad.
And don't worry too much about it *G*. I honestly don't think many people make a huge fuss about it. Especially in Britain, given that the Queen's address on the radio only goes to the commonwealth, doesn't actually play in Britain itself from what I'm reading (not that I've actually ... err .. listened to the broadcast ever that I can recall. *L*) :) So we probably hear a bit more about it out here in the commonwealth countries then you do there!

Date: 2005-03-14 03:54 pm (UTC)Here, have an icon for that song...
I have both curry and maple syrup at home, and the latter's the good stuff, imported by jet setting parents, so I probably will have that as well, now.
I prefer Naan, though.

Date: 2005-03-14 03:59 pm (UTC)And thanks for the icon *L* Gotta love Kenya.
I must say, looking at the commonwealth flags on that one site ... if it was a dinner, it would be a very exotic spread. Though personally, the only thing I would want from the barbados, bermuda, etc. right now would be their weather. And quick. *L*
