Until you pointed out the severe lack of charisma, I thought you were going to peg Harry Flashman as Preston's opposite. Of course, Flashy's also not superstitious, reasonably handy in a fight when enraged and/or unable to run away, brutally honest in his posthumous memoirs if not in life, and has been known to wear a snappy red uniform, so he wouldn't be an exact opposite.
