Okay, so it's not
milliways_bar. It's stll LJ RP.
Oct. 1st, 2004 10:12 amI participate in
theatrical_muse, which is more of a writing community than an RP one. Once a week, a challenge is issued, and everyone has to write around 150-250 words on that topic. The thing is, they have to do so in the voice of a character that's been approved by the mods. Virtually all of these characters are fannish- it ranges all over the place, from Wakko Warner to the staff of the Bartlett administration to Neo to Loki Himself. A few are original. But the point of the place is the challenges; any RP that happens is sort of a sideline. Miss three challenges in a row and unless you have a really good reason, they'll ask you to step down from the community.
I have two muses there, John Constantine and Sergeant Preston. Aside from the amazing amount of mental exercise one gets by flipping from one of those characters to the other, it's resulted in a lot of neat RP. The Sergeant, for example, has made friends with the Cheshire Cat- and in the process has met Na'Toth, Vir, and several other people from Babylon 5. (I figure he can handle a couple of space aliens, so long as they're polite. He's dealt with killer monster death mermaids, reasonably polite if somewhat nekkid mermaids, and the talking animals of Oz.) John Constantine, meanwhile, is being played as of his time in Hellblazer: Hogwarts. Which has led to some extremely peculiar situations, including the current one: one of the Endless has just turned up in his quarters at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and after a bit of chatting, has just asked if John wants any help teaching.
This is gonna be fun.
