Feeling stupid about this, but...
Apr. 18th, 2002 11:09 pmGuys? Those of you who've read any of the VicMage.Asia stuff... would you please comment on it, or something? Tell me what you think. Tell me it sucks. Tell me what you want to see. Tell me if any of it makes any sense, or if I'm being too obscure, or if you wanna play in it, or if I'm putting too much effort into something that only I and one other person care about. Anything. Please. I put it out here to find out what people think about it, and right now I'm running on two paged MUSH comments and a conversation with someone who will never be involved in the game. I don't care how savage you get about it if you dislike it, just tell me what you think of it. In detail. So I can fix it, or do whatever to it.
You have no idea how much I want to run this game, or write real fiction in this setting - although the fiction is mostly surfacing because I know I can't run the game until
cadhla's game is over. But I want to know someone else is at least vaguely interested in it, and what, specifically, they're interested in or want to see...
*sigh* Sorry. I'll go get a drink of water now. I hate it when I get this worked up, I always feel like the world's biggest moron afterwards for making mountains of insecurity out of molehills of legitimate things. I'm really sorry.

Date: 2002-04-18 08:17 pm (UTC)I don't, generally, get very tempted by mage - I had to sort of coax myself to try signing up for a game and, as far as I can tell, that game's not going to happen. Couple that with a relative lack of interest in Asia, and I'm very unlikely to play in the game, or to get as much out of the fiction pieces as others will.
But I do find them enjoyable.

Date: 2002-04-18 09:40 pm (UTC)The first story....I don't really remember, honestly. I remember thinking I didn't really know what was going on. The second story was very good in terms of characterization. I'd be very excited about it, because that bodes well for NPCs...except, well, I'm not being very excited about /anything/ right now. Blah.
I am really looking forward to the game, though. And I do eagerly read anything you put up.

Date: 2002-04-19 04:55 am (UTC)But don't be surprised if you don't get much feedback from tacking original fiction up. Most of my friends list is made up of fanfic writers, for example, who all know full well the value of feedback, but they're lousy at giving it too -- hang in there!
Because in the end, the story you'll tell is the story what needs tellin', the one that you can't not tell.
How went that novel you were working on, the one where I wanted to name that planet Feh and you (wisely!) whapped me?

Date: 2002-04-19 01:34 pm (UTC)Okay, it's 4:33 and my office's server seems to be relatively okay with regards to the Klez virus, so I AM GOING HOME NOW. The system will have to do without me for a while.
Thanks again, though. Seriously.
