Meanwhile dealing with backed-up data entry, and putting together the next Who Ya Gonna Owl segment. Can anyone here tell me if 'Konopka' is a reasonable name to see in England somewhere? I mostly choose my wizarding names from a list of interesting ones culled from our Chapter database, mixing up first and last names to avoid real-person problems. This doesn't seem like it's worth bothering hp_britglish about.

Ouch. I feel for you on the sunburn. I just was fusionfaced yesterday. I'm not at the itchy yet, just the "ow ow ow ow fragdimnit OW".

I did that the first two nights after the burn. It's horrid to sustain a solar radiation burn to the shoulder when you SLEEP ON YOUR SIDE. *whimper* Oh, well, at least it's just itching now. The hurt will go away, and my Italian-ancestry mother will shake her head ruefully and wonder aloud for the eight millionth time why I do not tan.

(Answer: because I did tan, deliberately, as a little kid. And then I heard about skin cancer. And then I heard about SPF 45. Now it's either sunscreen-all-to-hell, or I forget my bottle and burn by mistake.)

It was sheer fluke that only one shoulder was burned. Unlike you, I'm very very fairskinned. I do NOT leave the house without being covered in minimum SPF 75. Course, I slept over watching movies at a friends the night before, so next time... *winces* I've heard aloe is a wonderful thing to put on them, and it works to kill the itchy.
