BLANKET BLANKET BLANKET.
May. 1st, 2004 11:30 amHere's a bunch of the pictures I took of the CONTEST BLANKET OF DOOM. I'll be delivering it in person to the contest address in Hawthorne, NJ today. All of 'em are thumbnails, no larger than 200 x 200 pixels. You want bigger picture or more detail lemme know- still have the original snaps.
The whole thing, laid out on the porch.
One of the off-white panels.
Close up of one of the off-white bits next to the cable panel. I had knitted a pattern section that reminded me of arrows- that's what it was called in the book- but I realised about two reps in that the 'arrows' looked rather more like part of the Elder Futhark. Specifically, algiz, though with borders along either side. It happened to be next to the panel where I originally meant to render the St. Andrew's Cross as per the flag of Scotland; that one, which is more visible in the picture, rather resembles inguz. And the part you can't see because it's hanging over the back of the couch was marked 'seed stitch zig-zag', but bears rather a resemblance to sowilo in my opinion. I did not mean to do that at the time.
More of the same off-white panel.
Again, the whole thing, laid out lengthwise.
And laid out the other way.
One end at a slightly better lit angle.
The non-runey bit of the inadvertently runey panel
Another end shot- I bordered this in garter stitch double-thickness strips
That should do. I'll provide other pictures if you ever wanna, but that should do for now.
