*taps fingertips together* Bunnies. beh.
Apr. 24th, 2004 01:39 pmToday's plotbunnies:
- The slow burn of a Numenorean warrior trapped in the Caves of the Forgotten. I've had this one a while, but it's getting more insistent.
- The Silmarillion says that Morgoth denied the Easterlings the chance to plunder the rich lands of Beleriand which they had coveted, but shut them up in Hithlum instead. That can't have sat well with them. Those who served Morgoth might have been evil at heart, or they might have been deluded, or they might well have thought themselves truly justified- but in any case it can't have gone over well, to receive a consolation prize instead of what they were promised. All the Central Asian / Asiatic / Fertile Crescent peoples whose makeup probably inspired Tolkien's depiction of Easterlings and Southrons have fairly strong conceptions of honor. How many of them sat back and took this betrayal peacefully?
- Seen a few too many 'girl from HP universe turns out to be an elf or from the LOTR or both' fics lately. Am strongly tempted to do it with a boy this time, to see if it could be got right. But the boy would be Neville Longbottom, whose biological parents were in fact hobbits. It might make an interesting parody. ("What do you MEAN I'm never going to get any taller than this?" "You're already the tallest lad in the Shire who hasn't had Ent-draught, and you're only fifteen. You won't be of age for another thirty or so years." "AAUGH!")

Date: 2004-04-24 12:16 pm (UTC)20. If the character is a hobbit, does s/he have unusually dainty and hair free feet?
21. Does this lead to a nagging toenail fungus problem? (If the answer to question 21 is Yes, you are excused the rest of the test. Go forth and write).
