Blanket progress!
Apr. 16th, 2004 10:56 pmHave finished panel #2, the big off-white panel on the blanket. Have also acquired small inexpensive digital camera and taken several pictures. Alas, said camera is inexpensive enough that it has no flash and no preview screen, so its pictures are very dark even when well lit- but through the magic of photomanip I have managed to render two of the images usable.
This is the bottom fourth of the panel I finished today. There are three patterns to each twelve-inch segment, not counting the berry stitch borders. You can see three patterns plus border here. I will take a fuller picture later.

<img src="http://www.megaloceros.net/images/tn_cable1.JPG" alt=Green blanket panel with Durrow cable"> This will be in the middle of the blanket and I am NOT DOING ANY MORE OF THESE ANY TIME SOON. That cable runs for close to four feet in extremely complicated Celtic knotwork and it takes FOREVER to do.
The next panel will be like the first white one, sewn on the other side, and then I will do green end-caps (four inches each, probably garter stitch) and crochet along the sides in order to visually unify the whole thing and meet size requirements for the contest.
Go, me.

Go you!
So if you win, will you include a visit out here, as well as buying piles of qiviut? ;)
