... oh, for smeg's sake.
Mar. 14th, 2004 12:03 amRemind me that if I am going to attempt a Fifty States In Three Minutes recollection run again, I should not do so while listening to my mp3's. And that "O Canada" is really not the best mp3 to start with anyway.
On the other hand I did manage to get forty-seven states right off the bat despite said anthem. It's just that it took me two entire verses of "Leader of the Band" to remember Kentucky and Arizona, and in the end it turned out I somehow skipped Massachusetts entirely.
(In the interest of fairness I just tried the Canadian provinces & territories while listening to "Shakedown" by Bob Seger. no contest. Had all sodding thirteen names by the end of the sixth line of the song. The map's simpler, I guess. When I try to remember the fifty states I do it by starting from Alaska and Hawaii, then going from the West Coast to the East in north-south stripes. Canada? Pssh. Walk west across the map, remember the Maritimes, then back north and walk across the map again.)
