Currently a number of fanfic writers on LJ are doing a meme to the effect of 'show us five kisses that you've written in your fanfiction'.

And you know what?

I haven't got any.

No, seriously. I mean, I wrote some smut a couple of years ago for my own private consumption, but it wasn't fannish. I haven't written fanfic or gamefic with anybody kissing. If it was RPG log segments I'd be fine, since my characters are fairly active in that regard. It just hasn't been something I've written about- kissing, or anything proceeding therefrom. How very odd.

For what it's worth, I'm much the same. Even MU* wise there was a lot of handwaving/FTB'ing rather than explicit nookie of any pale or stripe.
When I was writing some of the Marcellus stuff, I NEARLY gave in but my prudish Briton genes won out.

Huzzah! I was afraid the second mitten might go astray, as I'd forgot the apartment number and was forced to rely on Superpages.com's People Pages for the right address. Glad to hear it.

BTW, when you get the chance, my friend Jeff of Virginia (as opposed to Geoff of New Jersey or Geoff of Wales) wants to speak to you about the gaming group. They just had a member leave due to RL circumstances and are really interested in getting someone new in, if you're available and stuff.

Yeah... I think my most romantic fanfic yet featured a female lead who spent most of the story with a disease prevention mask covering everything between her eyes and her chin, and who had a stress-induced breakdown upon finally encountering the male lead. No smootchies.

I think it's really cool that some people write fanfic which isn't purely about sexual scenes. Personally, I'm far more interested in characters than in their beds. :)
