A little before Halloween, I started work on the hapi coat pattern called "Disoriented" at knitty.com. And now, December 4, I'm all but done with it.

I've knitted a facing for the collar so it stands upright without curling. I've put the buttons into place, though the topmost one may have to be moved over a bit. I've sewn or trimmed nearly all of the loose ends until they're no longer a problem. All that remains is to get out the black chenille and do the reverse-stitch embroidery over the purl bumps on the back. When I have done this, I intend to hunt down my sister's digital camera and take pictures.

This thing's warm enough to wear outside today - and it's around 27 degrees Fahrenheit out there. However, I'd like to line it so that I can wear it as a jacket on even colder days; can anyone point me in the right direction for instructions on this? I assume I'm supposed to get quilt batting and stitch it down, then get some kind of fabric (flannel?) and sew it over the batting?

I'm sorry to be slow responding. The mitten fits very well indeed, although the thumb might be shortened a few rows. Otherwise it's perfect.
