It's been a while since I last plagued you with a quiz, hasn't it?


You are the USS Nevada. Pushing the envelope when
build, it was quickly outdated. But even in
its old age, it was the only battleship to get
under way during the attack at Pearl Harbor.
Severely damaged because of it, she returned to
action and served with distinction for the rest
of the war. Even after being assigned to be
destroyed in the Bikini Atoll Nuclear Tests she
weathered on. You are tough and resilient. No
matter how much they attack you, you stand
proud. You are someone anyone can depend on.
You may take a lot for it, but you are tough
and you can take it. I bet you can take a
direct hit from a hydrogen bomb too.

Don't show too fast. More and more people are getting smart enough to set second stages to get the first response team members as well.

(I admire this in the abstract. I admit: I like to see professionalism in actions. In reality, I abhore the need for the idea.)

Under ordinary circumstances - urban fires being the closest analogue I can think of - response time is supposed to be two hours or less in this part of the country. Response time in areas like the Alaska bush is permitted to be up to two or three days owing to the limitations of geography. My guess is that in the case of a hydrogen bomb hit, they'd probably give us a couple of days to let the radiation die down a bit. Red Cross hasn't exactly got the facilities for looking after mutants.
