I got the part.
Sep. 29th, 2003 09:49 pmI sent in an application a few days ago for a part at an LJ-based Harry Potter RPG. Since I'd never applied for a feature character before, I was a bit nervous- still am, as a matter of fact. It's always weird taking a part that someone else created and trying to live up to it. Still, I did manage to get the part, so now I am playing Neville Longbottom at
beyond_hogwarts. The war's over, Harry and Co. have graduated, and people are starting to put wizarding Britain back together. Pop by if you want a look- I'm using the LJ account
longbottom_nev, as there's already something like eight or nine different variations on the original Neville Longbottom name at LJ.

Date: 2003-09-30 06:16 am (UTC)I can't quite get past the image of the kid as something like a WW I infantryman. Thankfully he's already been through the war, so it's not as if he's got the kind of naivete about such things as gets people killed, but there's just something about his mix of stomach-clenching fear and determination to keep fighting in the face of it that suggests those poor bastards in the trenches. Only, thankfully, without the kind of idiotic leadership that left so many of said poor bastards dead and blinded. "The children of England would never be slaves..."
