Alas, no dogs.
Sep. 3rd, 2003 07:05 pmTonight Mary Shields is booked up and then some. I cannot go. However, she has room Friday, so I will be going to see her and the dogs then. There is no tour tomorrow and anyway I'm gonna be on a bus to the Arctic Circle and back all day, so Friday is good.
The hostel owner saw me knitting my black and white watch cap and made many excited noises about it. I have done my best to indicate that this is more a matter of genetics than personal skill as I have only been doing this since April, but she was all but squeeing - she asked me to help her daughter with a knitting project if I wouldn't mind. (The girl knows the basics of knitting, but couldn't finish a scarf.) I gave her some advice and said I'd be happy to help. Now I just need to find a good lace-weight type pattern for a scarf so I can use the qiviut for Mom. I'm gonna work on the hat on the way up to the Arctic Circle tomorrow, methinks.
