Because I am Pathetic,
Jul. 24th, 2003 01:51 pmI threw together a number of songs from my CD collection and burned them to disc as a bit of a soundtrack for last night's game. I had originally planned on assembling a soundtrack for my character so that I'd have something to listen to while I wrote Diary of a Mountie, but there's a problem with that: I can't find nearly enough songs to pull it off. Therefore, a game soundtrack seemed a bit more appropriate. If anyone's at all interested in a copy let me know; if anyone is interested in adding or removing songs from the list and getting a copy of a slightly better and more representative soundtrack, let me know.
Playlist for the New York Area League:
Sergeant (Donna Dianna Overture, E. von Reznicek composer, Zubin Mehta & NY Philharmonic performers) (This piece of classical music was Sergeant Preston's actual theme song on both radio and television.)
We Always Get Our Man (Shakedown, Bob Seger, Beverly Hills Cop 2 soundtrack)
Preston Senior (Leader of the Band, Dan Fogelberg) (Preston joined the force to catch an outlaw who killed his father, also a Mountie - I expect Dad was a hell of an influence during his life)
Night Villainy (Don't Lose My Number, Phil Collins)
Dawson City (Life In A Northern Town, Dream Academy)
We Band of Brothers (Welcome To The Occupation, REM)
Glasgow (Disturbance At The Heron House, REM)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (Boy in the Bubble, Paul Simon)
Aspirations of Civilization (Higher, Creed)
J.'s Opinion (Never Surrender, Corey Hart)
Dirigible Flight (A Wild and Distant Shore, Michael Nyman, The Piano soundtrack)
All Part of the Plan (Through Heaven's Eyes, Prince of Egypt soundtrack)
Inspiration (Fortress Around Your Heart, Sting) (no, there is nothing specific to hang this on - it does seem appropriate somehow but damned if I can figure out why)
Life Is A Highway (Tom Cochrane - it didn't need another title)
Duty and Honour (On The Turning Away, The Virginia Gentlemen) (As opposed to the rather more American urges for 'fortune and glory, kid, fortune and glory'.)
Haven't set them in a proper order yet but it's a different assortment from what I've had at work for a while. Lemme know if you want anything to do with this.
