Well, lunch went well. I got an eBay package in the mail, so that's good. I got over to the tailor's and dropped off my jacket and a quarter of a yard of black canvas that was the closest match in texture and feel to the existing fabric of my jacket; he says they should be able to do something with it. ('something' in this case being 'lengthen the cuffs by three inches'. I've got arms longer than anyone else my height.) Didn't quote a price at me. We'll see how much it costs. I hope not too much, but... we'll see.
On another note, last night and this morning saw the birth of some more awfully disturbing ideas for RPG foo. Oddly enough, despite the fact that I've almost finished Joseph Needham's lovely, lovely book, few if any are to do with VicMage.Asia. It is, however, at least partially an Asian-influenced alternate history theme; I just need to figure out how I can go about structuring a game with it, and what game universe to use. In this world, things CHANGED the day the golden spike was driven to join the railroads... and the lands west of the Mississippi are not the West the world once knew.
Lemme know if you're interested in more or could offer some suggestions on how to handle this, setting-wise. I'm not sure if Mage is quite right, but I had to return my copy of Hong Kong Action Theater to the store the other week owing to missing pages.
