Note to self, if the zipper pull comes all the way off both sides, it ain't goin' back on except from the bottom. Put a stop of some kind at the top (even if it's just a horizontal pin) BEFORE making any zipper length adjustments.
(Working on cloning a pair of shorts for someone who had worn theirs until the fabric was see-through in several places. I don't normally put fasteners in the muslin but given that the original involved an elastic strip at the back and button+zipper at the front I feel obligated to do so for fitting purposes.)
