I gotta get a full length mirror.
Oct. 12th, 2021 10:45 amTaking pictures of myself wearing shorts I just finished making is oddly difficult. (Although not as awkward as trying to photograph my own ears due to not having an earlobe model available for finished earrings.)
( Taken yesterday, outdoors, largely because I'd thought I'd be able to balance the phone on a bench and get a good shot. I was wrong so there are shadows of me holding the phone in a few of these pics. )
Pattern is KwikSew K4045, men's cargo/flat front pants. Bought it from joann.com. I started in on the pattern back in June of 2020, before I had enough of a clue to realize that yeah, I should've begun by making a muslin; I still have the cut pieces of that original pattern lying around. (Tip to my younger self: fusible web and fusible interfacing are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.) It's probably best that I got confused/frustrated during zipper installation. I wound up having to grade from an XL waistband down to L shorts.
Fabric is brushed chino twill, in moss, from SewingStudio.com in Oregon. Primary pockets are made from a fabric I could not for the life of me remember buying. It may have been a bedsheet once. Felt like it was in too good a condition to be the bedsheet I had used to teach myself how to make bias tape but I don't really have any other candidates. The thread, zipper and jeans button were from wawak.com, the back pocket buttons and interfacing were from joann.com.
