Back in August I ordered a few things from Michaels. I got a package from them that had both my address and an address in Indiana on it. Turns out they'd somehow pasted two labels on the envelope, and that while the stuff inside was meant for the Indiana address, my address was treated as the recipient. I called Michaels to report that they'd sent me the wrong thing, and then I wrote an apologetic note on the packing slip, packed the stuff back up, and sent it on to the Indiana customer first chance I got.
Saturday I had a thank you card in the mail from the person in Indiana. Apparently it's been a really shitty year for them health-wise, including an injury, physical rehabilitation, and a heart attack that landed them in the ICU; they'd been ordering craft stuff from Michaels because they're not supposed to get out of bed much or go very far on their own. Getting their bias tape back without any fuss or trouble apparently helped restore their faith in people in general.
(Michaels replaced the stuff I'd ordered free of charge since it was their fault the wrong thing got shipped to my address.)
