The shorts pattern is finished. It was.... rather higher waisted than I had anticipated based on the photographs. If I wear it with the waist at the appropriate height for the pattern I look like an old man who has hitched his trousers up too far, and if I wear it at an appropriate height for me, I have enough room between my undercarriage and the crotch of the shorts to carry a couple of Twinkies. Pity, the sewing worked out well and I like the look of the lines and the linen/cotton blend, just not the end product so much.

On to the next sewing project, I guess. Probably going to add another black cotton knit top to my inventory because when I bought three yards of black cotton jersey knit fabric I was not aware that knit fabric comes in different widths from woven fabric, and that one of those widths is 108 inches. I have so much black fabric.

(I have several other colors and types of knit and harbor a dream of using the iridescent one for workout leggings and a sports bra, but that was a bit on the expensive side. I will sew up a tank from the black cotton jersey, maybe do another pair of underpants or two from scrap T-shirts, and then use the Shiny Turquoise and Shiny Red spandex for a practice pair of leggings and sports bra. I also have the fabric and edging for a polo shirt and collar, which I should probably do soonish, but I need to print up and assemble that pattern or else get the PDF printed/assembled at a Staples, whereas I have the leggings, sports bra, and tank top patterns all ready to go.)
