(no subject)

Well, I'm awake and operational, that's something.

Took yesterday off. Since I'd already voted and verified that my ballot had been accepted, I spent most of yesterday baking (it was a Pillsbury mint cream cheese brownie recipe; more or less okay but it needs tweaking) or firmly ensconced in the world of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

We'll see where things go from here. Meanwhile I'm dealing with work and doing my best to ignore the house periodically shaking, because the town has been doing gas pipeline work on our street all week and got to the part where they crack open the pavement in front of this house today. They were scheduled to hook our meters up to a new line this morning at 7. Hopefully that's been done.

In related news, I know I set the poll to only let me read the results, but according to DW's help department, if you are not me, being able to read the answer tallies (e.g. 3 people voted for answer A, 0 for B, 7 for C) is normal, being able to see who gave which answer to what is not.

Things it is very wise to remember in the kitchen:

Seaweed gomasio is in the big cylindrical jar. Ras al hanout for coffee is in the little cylindrical jar.

Under no circumstances of which I am currently aware is it okay to mistakenly put one of them into a substance for which I had intended the other!



(seriously, the gravy was not improved at all, and thankfully I have stopped myself before adulterating my coffee with seaweed and sesame seeds so far...)
