(no subject)

Today on How You Know You're Me:

- Hm, it's kind of dim in the living room; I should get another lamp
- It should match the one I have now
- Which should be easy as I bought it from Target
- ... Target no longer sells this lamp
- It sells very similar lamps that are also 'wood' and have shelves, but they are black rather than brown
- The reason I bought brown in the first place was that I already have too much dark furniture in here
- Also none of them have the same kind of shade at the top
- I can get another shade somewhere else but the frame's not going to match
- I'll check other stores
- Nope, all the ones at Home Depot are black too
- Macy's has two for OH DEAR GOD HOW MUCH
- Wal-Mart no- sorry, Google, I'm not shopping at Wal-Mart until they stop being evil
- *insert half an hour of further searching*
- It's made of wood, isn't it? Plain square wood with square dowels?
- Let's go look at Home Depot again

... so, yeah, gonna be building and staining and finishing a matching shelf lamp this weekend, I think. Went to Home Depot this morning for the parts. I'll worry about the electrical elements once the building's done.
