Office is having a Halloween bakeoff tomorrow. I made a Brooklyn blackout cake from the America's Test Kitchen cookbook America's Lost Recipes; it's their version of Ebinger's recipe. Only took two pictures, but here they are:

A round cake frosted in pudding the color of milk chocolate, with its sides covered in very dark brown to black crumbs.

Same round cake, but now all bepuddinged surfaces are covered in the dark-brown-to-black crumbs, no exceptions.

Will let you know how it fares at the bake-off.
