Bad thing: Raspberry Cremes, by the same people who make Junior Mints.
I bought a box of them yesterday to try out; they're basically the same idea as Junior Mints but filled with a raspberryesque filling instead of gooey mint. Ghirardelli does a good raspberry goo-filled chocolate, so I thought maybe these guys would too.
NO. NO THEY DO NOT.
They start off tasting okay, but then the artificiality of the flavor kicks in and they taste all wrong in the back of the mouth. They're also extremely sweet- which is nice in Junior Mints, but here, not so much- and the box I got was welded together in a single solid mass, so I had to pry them loose. I'm not sure how old the box was, either, although I was assuming it was reasonably new since it was for sale in a store with a pretty high rate of candy turnover. Overall it started off seeming like a nice idea and then turned very, very wrong. Very.
Glaaaah.
I'm gonna go get some seltzer now and try not to think of artificial raspberries.
