Got almost seven hours of sleep last night. This makes me happy. I have a vile habit of staying up too late because many of my friends live three time zones over, but this time I bit the bullet and got to sleep at a semi-reasonable hour. I even woke up before my alarm clock, squinted at it, and did the wiggly-shoulders thing that is all one may perform of the Happy Dance whilst lying in bed. Then I went back to sleep for a few minutes.

The radiator got flushed and refilled yesterday. According to the report at Jiffy Lube, the blinky light was Saturn-speak for 'dude, we recommend you change the antifreeze every thirty thousand miles - but you've gone way past the point where there's antifreeze left to change, all we've got in here is water'. $74.19 and they replaced the cap on the overflow tank. My other car fluids are all right except the oil, which is a bit low, but I'm due for an oil change in the next two weeks anyway so I'll get it done then.

It's actually sunny out. And I can see really well. No, seriously, it varies by day - I had LASIK done back in 1999. (Birthday present from my parents.) Sometimes if I sleep with my face pushed into the pillow too hard it affects my vision the next morning. It's sunny out, there's a bit of clouding going on, and I can see really well today.

$750 in my vacation account. I'm going to take $725 of it out today and buy my plane ticket. I realise that in all likelihood the airlines will have a sale starting next Wednesday wherein such a ticket will cost $500 instead of $684, but I have no guarantee of that and should like my ticket all nicely purchased and lined up before events happen to push things in another direction.

No appointments or family duties tomorrow that I know of. I'm going to sleep late and go to the Ren Faire, I think. Unless it rains. They're saying it's going to rain. We'll see.

There's about eleven inches of pullover knitted so far on my latest knitting project. At thirteen inches I start shaping the armholes. I need to take a picture of my prior project so I can send it to [livejournal.com profile] condottiere and post the photos to the [livejournal.com profile] knitting community.

I've made my credit card payment of the week, on the card that pays for my gym membership. I went for Total Facility, which is something like $450 a year. I don't use the entire facility, but given that there are five karate semesters a year and that each karate class costs $108- and that Total Facility members get karate and other such classes free - it's basically me paying for my karate lessons all at once. I have signed up for karate for next semester already, and added a tai chi class. We'll see if there's anyone else in the class under the age of fifty. Most of the people I see doing tai chi in the local park look like grandparents, but you never know. And you know what? The tai chi class is free under my membership, too, so if I keep that up along with the karate stuff, I've already paid for it all.

Might try weeding my garden patch tomorrow and putting in basil. It's late for planting- I should've done basil back at the beginning of May- but you never know.

I'm getting out at 3 PM today due to summer hours. I keep getting out at 3 on Fridays until Labor Day, at which point I come in for one day, then turn around and - bam- back to Alaska. Whee!

That's about it for now. I'm gonna go see what I can scare up plane-fare-wise and then see if it's still the same after I get my $$ into my checking account (so's I can pay using my Visa debit card).

I know this is a long shot that you've probably already thought of...but if you hadn't, consider Priceline. I saved almost $90 on a ticket recently, roughly 33% of the cost of the ticket from a discount ticket supplier. The only problem...you have to be not picky about flight times.

Yay for vacations!
