Okay, so, I'm awake. Bigger accomplishment than usual since yesterday's workout routine included basement-to-32 on the stairs and a whole blood donation. Stairs first, then the needle in the arm, thank you, I'm not completely insane. Will probably do stairs today but it will either be 29-to-rooftop-access-on-45 or else 'walk ten floors, stop and wander in circles for a minute, walk ten floors' etc. Stayed awake surprisingly late last night despite this, as I had things to do and the brain was buzzing.

Am also trying a new hair routine. My hair's pretty wavy, although this is not as obvious when it's longer than chin or shoulder length thanks to all the weight. It also tends to frizz and fly away. My sister found a blog that indicated that curly/wavy hair is more easily dried out by shampoos than straighter hair and sent me a link to the blogger's hair regimen, since she knows I'm trying to get this under control. Cleaned my hair last night with 1/4 cup baking soda dissolved in a quart of water, then did a rinse that involved cider vinegar, aloe vera gel, water, tea tree oil, and wintergreen oil (the last two were to cover up the cider smell; the recipe normally includes a small amount of honey, but it turns out I'd used up all of mine). Looks good so far but we'll see how it holds up over the course of a week or two. And I'm keeping my shampoo for the days when I can't be arsed to screw around with measuring cups.

(This does not work as well as I would like as a solution to the longstanding post-apocalyptic problem of "Good God, did the nukes/gengineered plague/solar flare/gamma ray burst/dragons eat all the soap first?". Yes, the baking soda cleanse is a simple thing one can do at home, but it relies on having a supply of sodium bicarbonate on hand, and frankly I think it's probably easier for most people to get their hands on hardwood ash and animal or plant fat than on sodium bicarb unless they have the presence of mind to steal all the baking soda from the stores on an early supply run.)

Anyway, there'll be content that isn't quite so rambly later. Haven't had my caffeine yet.

Been considering how to tune up the old Milliways 'Rise of the Fallen' AU so as to file off all the multiversal serial numbers, so to speak. Have figured out several options for what I need to do. Several of them involve names like Minor Scale and Misty Picture and words like 'vircator'. Most of them cause me to violate Rule 87 of Skippy's List.

Pretty sure that's a good sign.
