Dear taxi company:

Yes, I left the room where the phone was that had the number I originally gave you to call. I left it at five PM; I had called at four, and you had said that I would be picked up in an hour. I waited for your people for fifty minutes; no one showed. So I phoned again to say that I had left that room and needed a car and you put me on hold. The next person to pick up the phone- after five minutes of hold music- told me that there would be a car in twenty minutes, and hung up without asking for my phone number.

You do not have the right to sound like a mellowed-out surfer parody when you say "aw, somebody called that number and there was no answer" when your people were nearly an hour late to start with, then failed to show up half an hour after saying they'd take twenty minutes. I am not the one who was wrong for not giving you the new number. You are the ones who did not show up ANYWHERE NEAR the time you were supposed to.

If there were other taxi companies in the region I'd be calling them as we speak. As it stands, I feel very sorry for your cabbie, because whoever it is, they're not getting a tip tonight unless life-saving measures are undertaken.
