(no subject)

Possible omen for today: on the way into work, having left early to get some issues nailed before the workday could make them any worse, my spiffy new shoes betrayed me and slid out from under me in two different directions. One knee slammed into the tiles of the 33rd Street PATH; the other leg, I think, went straight out in front of me. Or something. I don't remember, because it didn't hurt very much, and because- and this is the omen part- after taking a second to realize what had just happened, I pushed myself up to my feet and kept on going without missing any further strides.
