At this time six years ago I was installing patches to McAfee Antivirus on the computers at the Metropolitan New Jersey Chapter of the American Red Cross. A few minutes later I looked up and wondered, "Huh. How come everybody's going into the board room?"

Turned out it was because that's where the giant TV was.

It's wetter today than it was then.

I've decided, btw, that today is National Ignore Your Television Day for me. I celebrated this holiday last year, too, as far as I can remember, so hey- it's a tradition, innit? No TV for me today. Woo.

Totally unrelated to the anniversary: mephron, I wanted to ask you- would it be okay if we handwaved the thing we were talking about with the upgrades, or did you want to thread that out, or what?

Got a Culinary Institute class in Timeless Desserts on Saturday at 9 AM. The easiest way to get there is by train. The train leaves Grand Central at 6:20 AM.

I would complain about having to get up at gross o'clock to catch the train to get there, but the fact is that I'd have to leave nearly as early to drive there, and I wouldn't be allowed to sleep, either, what with the whole AIEE DRIVING OFF ROAD NOW thing. So I can deal. PATH to Hoboken to 33rd, thence to B, D, F or V trains to 41st, thence overland to Grand Central; that or PATH to WTC, thence overland to the Fulton Street station, thence the 4 train to Grand Central. From there it's the MetroNorth 6:20 to Poughkeepsie, followed by a taxi to the CIA. w00t.
