Jul. 19th, 2007 08:04 amI"m at the American Airlines departure point at Newark Airport. I've got a few hours to go- my flight doesn't board until around 9:50 or so.
I'm pleased to report the TSA lets you carry knitting needles on board, even in the form of a pack of multiple double-points. However, I forgot that my toothpaste tube was entirely too big for current regs. Oh well. I'll buy new toothpaste when I get to Chicago. No great loss.
It's impossible to see anything out the windows past the runway. It's all foggy and the sky is grey. The other side of the highway- heck,the highway itself- just doesn't seem to exist. One has to wonder,sometimes... especially when one has incorporated Trans-Ocean flight 66 into the background of a character's world. If my plane goes into a cloud bank and comes out in the past, I'll do my best to drop my driver's license into something the archaeologists or palaeontologists will find hojillions of years later.
For now, my clothes are in my carry-on and my canon and gifts for people are in my checked bag. and when I get to Chicago I have to get to a yarn store, because I could only find one of the two gloves I was supposed to make, so I'm going to have to bang out a substitute when I arrive. Which, fortunately, I can do. And I can get to that yarn store, too. Loopy Yarns (http://www.loopyyarns.com) is less than 3/4 of a mile from the hotel. w00!
Further bulletins as events warrant. The GateStation IM access sucks. AIM Express won't load up properly and Meebo's been filtered because it might contain feelthy objectionable content.
