Called the hotel. Got a reservation for 21 and 22 October, with 'the filk group' as the desk lady put it. Gonna need a ride from the airport that night, will probably need to get a taxi back on Sunday.

CNBC reporters talking about gas prices, about hybrid cars, about the psychology of the American driver, about 'are people going to adopt fuel economy until the crisis passes and then want their SUVs back', about why the Ford Escape hybrid costs $6,000 more than a standard Ford Escape.

INSIDE MY HEAD:

I'm doing a spirited jig because the saddlebags for my bike arrived yesterday. A little smaller than I wanted (the Cannondale Overlands have been disconnected), but I have saddlebags now, and can still strap stuff down on top of the rack, too.
