Update on the Contest Blanket o' Doom
Mar. 27th, 2004 10:38 pmI have been working on this thing at lunch, after work, and on weekends in earnest, since it must be in the judges' hands by May 1st. I have decided that it is going to be one cable panel only; all the other panels will involve other textural stitching, more like a sampler than an assload of cable. Today I brought the cable panel with me when I dropped off my car to have the oil changed and the engine flushed. I measured it when I reached the end of repeat #5 of the central sixty rows... it was a little more than 39 inches long. My tape measure only goes up to 39, but given that I had forty rows left and the blanket has to be 40" by 57" or larger, I decided to end the repeats there.
I've finished the entire cable panel. It is 48" long.
I so need someone with a digital camera so I can post pictures of this thing in progress. It'll never fit into my scanner.
