I could claim this was a writing exercise-

I did get one a while back that involved postcards- but it's not. The main characters are Wayne Zhuang and Dennis Hu. I've moved them into the future a number of years- they fit pretty well into the hard SF universe that includes Ira "Rocketboy" Dayan and his friend Kenny Aoi- so I've pulled the cigarettes out and replaced 'em with a legal stimulant named Vivvera as the socially obnoxious coping mechanism of choice. Not that this is especially relevant, I'm just saying.

This is a deliberate attempt to write a Good Songfic, one that's been rattling around in my head for a while.

Side note: Wayne would appear to be my designated Abuse Character. He makes such a lovely target for all things gratuitous. Poor sod.

Phew. Found it.

Those of you who were witness to my hours of fussing about last night: I found my data suppository today. Somehow it had wound up in front of the passenger seat of my car, just between the floor mat and the little ridge at the front of the seat. I'd gone UNDER the seats last night, but I guess I managed to miss it nonetheless.

I feel much better.

Hah.

Despite:

- running on four hours' sleep (brain too active last night to take body's advice on when to go to bed)
- having REM singing "Bad Day" on the CD player
- people walking around in office
- secretly liking the design of the Canadian flag way better than the design of the American one

... I still managed to remember and write down (okay, type out) all fifty of the American states in the space of less than three minutes. I r0x0r, d00d.

Okay, yeah, stopping at market to buy tofu on way home so that I have something to eat for dinner, then going home, putting mise en place together, and probably falling asleep in bathtub for two hours before remembering to eat. booger.

I have no interest in visiting Mexico. If I did, I would have done so while I was in California, as I was half an hour from the border and had a car at my disposal. I should like to amend my record a bit in the States, and I definitely need to visit more of Canada- quite a bit more.
